Primo Balindan
DDC Security Guard
Good things do pop up in unexpected circumstances. In this article, Primo, a security personnel at Davao Doctors College, shares his heart-warming story.
I'm Primo Balindan. I was working as a security guard at Davao Doctors Hospital (DDH) in 2002.
I was transferred to the Davao Doctors College (DDC) and have been part of the security department from 2003 to the present. I work hard and deliver a good performance as a security guard -- from time to time, I earned praises from the students and staff because of my work.
One day, Mr. Del Val, president of DDH, noticed that I have a suspected lymphoma in one side of my body. He referred and endorsed me to Dr. Samson Peli to be checked. He also assured me that DDH management would pay the bill for the operation and treatment.
I was very thankful and grateful to Mr. Del Val and DDH for the treatment and the help they had given to me. He also assured me that as long as he is still connected with DDH, he would help me out in any way he can.
A month later, Mr. Del Val approached me and asked if my eldest child is in school. I told him that my eldest child is studying at the Davao City National High School and is in Grade 12.
I was surprised when he told me that he and the DDH management will help my eldest child to study in college through a scholarship.
I'm really grateful to Mr. Del Val for his kindness and also to the DDH management for the opportunity of improving my health and securing my child's future.
