Davao City Philippines | Davao Doctors Hospital (DDH) Eye Center celebrated the Eye Saving Month on September 4, 2015. The Center hosted a lay forum to generate patient awareness and promote healthy eye sight for walk-in clients specifically patients.
Dr. Perfecto Domingo, an Eye, Ear, Nose Throat (EENT) specialist and the clinical head of the Eye Center discussed about Diabetic Retinopathy. He stressed that retinopathy is a complication of any type of diabetes either acquired or hereditary that leads to low vision, retina detachment, glaucoma or blindness. Luckily, it can be prevented through strict blood sugar control, blood pressure control, proper diet and regular check-up by ophthalmologists.
In partnership with the Davao Doctors College (DDC) Optometry Department, they also conducted free eye screening for all attendees of the forum and residents of Bangkerohan and Malvar under the St. Jude Parish program.
